Lisa's medical funds

Hi, I am Melanie and I am raising funds to help our dear friend and colleague to pay for her recent surgery and medical expenses.
Let me introduce Lisa Upton, one of the sweetest (and sassiest) friends that I have know and worked with for over 13 years. Lisa is one of those people who ALWAYS does for others and never says no, this time it's our turn to do for her. She will most likely be mortified that we are doing this for her!
Lisa is a 11 year breast cancer survivor and had just recently discovered that invasive breast cancer had once again shown up in one of her breasts.
Being the practical decision maker that she is, she took no chances this time and decided to have a double mastectomy on Thursday, September 28.
Her surgery went very well, the doctor seems positive that she has removed all cancer from the area! This is the good news!! 
The more unfortunate news is Lisa had to cancel her costly insurance a few months ago due to very high premiums! As we all know, insurance costs in this country are ridiculous.. hers was 975.00 a month, you either pay rent or pay insurance. Lisa decided a roof over her head was more important at the time and took the risk. 
Fast forward, here we are. I would like to raise funds to help cover her meds and maybe get a small jumpstart on helping her make payments for the surgery. $5000 is a start but only a small fraction of what she is going to owe. Any amount helps, my colleagues and Lisa's family appreciate any help provided.  God bless you all!
