Medical treatment for our dad

I honestly don't even know how to begin this because I never thought we would be in this situation. My father William Nichols is one of the funniest, craziest, strongest people I know. Anyone who knows him could probably tell you a million stories about him that would make you laugh. His motto in life is "keep on keepin' on" and through all the tough times he always came out stronger. Well now we have to be strong for him.

In June he was admitted to the hospital with pancreatitis. Within 2 days his kidneys, liver, and pancreas had begin shut down. Shortly after that he could no longer breathe on his own and was put on a ventilator. For the next 2 weeks he was sedated and had machines doing nearly everything for him other than make his heart beat. He spent over 3 weeks in critical condition in the Neuro/Trauma Intensive Care Unit. Those were some of the worst days of our family's lives. He finally is able to breathe on his own with the help of oxygen and some of his organs have regained some function. He has had numerous procedures and still has so many more to come once he's stable enough. He will be spending a long time in the hospital and possibly a long term care facility from there. We all have hope of a full recovery but the damage done to his body can have lasting side effects. His mental and physical status are weak and he requires a lot of care and treatments.

Here is where my sisters and I need to do something we never thought we would have to. We need to ask for help from our family and friends. Our father worked in construction and his job had just finished and he was beginning a new one when he got sick. Unfortunately his insurance policy ran out a few days before he went into the hospital. This means none of his treatment is covered. This also means we have to find a way to pay for a hospital or care facility that can better meet his needs. He will also need ongoing care if/when he is released. We are hopeful he will make a full recovery but its going to be a long road and the medical bills are out of this world. My sisters and I are doing all we can to help our dad but unfortunately we are not able to take on the full amount of this financial burden. We want our father to be able to receive the care he needs so we are asking if anyone can please help in any way. You have no idea how much we appreciate all the love and prayers we've received for our dad ❤
