Medical Therapy Fund

In October, complications from a normal four-hour outpatient procedure caused Donesha to be admitted into the hospital for four days resulting in the loss of mobility in her right leg.

Due to this loss, she is unable to work, is home bound, and needs in-home therapy 3-4 times a week along with a home health care nurse to assist with normal daily activities.

Donesha is a mother of two sons and a vibrant employee in the medical field helping others. At this time, medical professionals are unsure what caused her present immobility and if she will ever be able to walk or care for herself without assistance in the future.

As you may imagine, this situation has left her she is unable to work at present and has exhausted her PTO, savings and places her current income as only a fraction of her usual salary.  Her needs at present far outweigh her needs to provide for her family along with additional medical and therapy costs.

Her family and friends are chipping in and asking for assistance with these additional burdens of unexpected medical and therapy expenses.  Funds would be used exclusively to pay expenses which are above or not included in what her insurance would cover (e.g., copays, therapy sessions and equipment, prescriptions, home health care, etc.) due to the greatly reduced income she is receiving because of her current inability to work.

We thoroughly realize her medical care right now will not only determine the extent of her recovery but also her quality of life and long-term care planning outcomes.
