Hello family and friends,  “Our elders and our children, they await the nation’s call. They are as lions of the jungle, on the day of crisis.” - Lebanese National Anthem We were raised on these words and now is the time for us to act on them. Lebanon’s call has reached all parts of the world. We, as Lebanese expats and lovers of the Lebanese culture and people, cannot sit back as our families and loved ones suffer as if no one is there to offer help or lend a listening ear to the cries of pain and help. The gruesome economic crisis in Lebanon has thrown people’s lives into a mysterious fate. The COVID-19 pandemic rendered the situation even more complicated. The medical sector in Lebanon has sustained one of the greatest hits with the current state.  Certain medical supplies and medications are limited and prone to becoming unavailable. Stemming from the principle of us all being always ready for our nation, as our national anthem preaches, a group of other Lebanese medical students and I are inviting you to donate (even one dollar can make a difference!) to facilitate the process of shipping medical supplies to Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) which is a non-profit organization that welcomes the poorest of the poor and has proved to be one of the epicenters for containing the COVID-19 pandemic in Lebanon. Simply sharing this post can help it reach someone who can donate. This is one of many initiatives we can do to help a land and people who taught us the meaning of perseverance.  FAQ: Will any money be sent to Lebanon? And how will it be sent?  Answer: No physical money will be sent to Lebanon; the money will cover the medical supplies, handling, and shipping fees that will be what is sent to Lebanon. Ils sont comme les lions de la jungle durant le temps de la crise. » - L’hymne national libanais. On nous a élevé sur ces paroles et maintenant il est temps de les appliquer. L’appel du Liban a atteint le monde entier et nous, comme libanais expatriés qui aiment le Liban, sa culture et son peuple, ne pouvons pas rester inactif tandis que nos familles et les personnes qu’on aide souffrent  comme s’il n’y avait personne pour les aider ou  écouter leurs cris de douleur et leur demande d’aide. L’horrible crise économique du Liban a lancé les gens vers un avenir inconnu. La pandémie du « COVID-19 » a rendu la situation encore plus compliquée. Le secteur médical au Liban a souffert le plus à cause de la situation actuelle où quelques provisions médicales et médicaments sont devenus limités et vont bientôt être indisponibles. Reposant sur le principe que nous devons être toujours prêts à aider notre nation, et comme notre hymne national nous l’enseigne, un autre groupe d’étudiants libanais en médecine et moi-même vous invitent à faire un don (même un dollar peut marquer une différence!) pour faciliter le procès de l’embarquement de provisions médicales jusqu’à Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH) qui est une organisation sans profit qui prend soin des plus pauvres et qui s’est avérée être l’épicentre comprenant le « COVID-19 » au Liban.  Simplement en partageant ce poste là peut nous aider à atteindre quelqu’un qui peut faire un don.
