Medical Rehabilitation Fund for CJ

At approximately 8:00 AM on June 5th, 2017, CJ and Wayne Maxey’s lives changed forever. CJ was driving to work Northbound on a highway in SC and a car traveling in the opposite lane crossed over into his path and collided head on trapping CJ in his car for over an hour. CJ was rushed to the hospital with extensive damage to his legs, foot, wrist and back. Orthopedic surgeons worked on his legs for over 6 hours, but could not complete all the required surgeries due the swelling of his body and as discovered later, traumatic internal injuries. After surgery that Monday morning, CJ was required to stay in a drug induced coma on a ventilator as was unable to breathe on his own; as well as, a feeding tube. CJ received his final surgery on his right heel; however, the surgeons have advised the family they had to reform his heel as it was shattered. He will never have full mobility of his foot and extensive nerve damage. CJ is now required to have physical therapy and intense rehabilitation. As the family waits for CJ to improve,every day exepesnes and enourmous bills for treatment that is not covered are flooding in to CJ. I have set up this GOFUNDME page to ask for donations to help CJ and Wayne Maxey.

 

Even though CJ has medical insurance, he and his father will incur many financial burdens due to meeting deductibles, monies outside of the out of pocket maximum,co-pays, travel costs, lost wages, meals, etc…  my goal is to raise money for them in order to allow Wayne and his family to focus solely on CJ’s recovery.
