Dear Friends,
I am reaching out to you from a place of shock and sadness. Our 14 year old son, Andrew, is battling a very serious health issue. The news was unexpected. Since February he has been at Vanderbilt Medical Center for a total of 3 weeks. He will be there at least 2 more. Currently, I have been commuting back and forth to Vanderbilt, which is a 4 hour round trip. But for treatment purposes, I will now have to spend 24/7 with him in Nashville. Unfortunately, we have reached the point where insurance is running out and hospital and medical bills are mounting quickly. I have had to secure temporary housing in Nashville, which is costly. I will be taking off work to stay there. It is hard for me to ask for help. I was raised to go it alone. But I can no longer do that. For years, we have provided for both my children’s special needs, much of which has not been covered by insurance. I created a gofundme campaign so that we can continue to pay these out-of-pocket expenses and the currently mounting medical bills. This was not an easy decision, but one that I made to help my son get the care that he needs. I thank you in advance for your help. Any donation will be appreciated.
