I want to become a Medical Transcriber to better support my family's needs without government assistance.
Since becoming the mother of a medically complex child nearly 6 years ago, employment became impossible. I found out the hard way that you can't run a day home from the hospital's emergency department.
Time has passed and he is much more medically stable. Since I still need too much flexibility in my employment to run a day home, it is time for a career change. So, it's back to school time!
I have been studying for my GED and have done really well on all my exams so far. My final exam will be for math, and I will be writing it in the next several weeks.
I would sure appreciate the hand up in covering the cost of this one year course. $4745.00 is the cost of the course with additional practice and access to content while offline (so I can work on it even while in hospital with my son).
Additional costs are a higher speed internet for the one year of the online course, a criminal record check to secure employment, and help with medical supplies and household expenses during this time. Budgeting for help with $700/mo towards these things would allow me to focus on studying, caring for my son, and supervising the in home staff I get to help with the medical care.
I am eager to get registered so I can start classes as soon as my son gets settled into Grade 1 next month.
