Medical Mission for Ukrainian Refugees in Tijuana

Donation protected
Thousands of Ukrainians fleeing the war have come to the US-Mexico border in Tijuana, where immigration agents are letting them into the United States on humanitarian grounds. Currently, there are about 2,000 Ukrainian refugees are gathered at the border, with hundreds continuing to arrive daily. While they wait, bus stops and gymnasiums have been turned into makeshift shelters, but due to the overflow, there are mothers and young children sleeping on the streets of Tijuana. These refugees have lost everything, including loved ones.

Seeing this on the news has been devastating, and we couldn't just stand by and watch. We are a group of medical professionals from Orange County that have come together to form the Volunteer Medical Mission for Ukrainian Refugees in Tijuana. Led by Dr. Eric Hargis, our team has set up a medical clinic in one of the camp shelters.

Many of the refugees are suffering from chronic medical conditions which they haven’t been able to treat since they are on the run, along with new medical conditions that have happened along the way. These are families and children. Our goal is to provide around the clock care for refugees through first aid, over-the-counter medications, and facilitating access to healthcare in Mexico.

We have relied on donations from family and friends to fund our mission, but as hundreds of refugees continue to arrive daily, we are in desperate need of more medical aid and are seeking your help. We are trying to raise $20,000 and all funds raised will go directly towards humanitarian medical relief for the Ukrainian refugees in Tijuana. This will consist of items such as Automatic External Defibrillators (AED), wheel chairs, specific medications, wound care supplies, lab test costs, and transportation costs to move the medical staff to and from the border.

We would be so grateful for your support!
