<div>Alexis Evans is a living MIRACLE.  She survived an injury called, " Internal Decapitation." This injury was caused by a driver that rear-ended her car at excessive speed on the 91 freeway. With God's help, a nurse, and the first responders, They were all  able to help Alexis narrowly escape death. Unfortunately, the accident injured her spinal cord and this has affected her vision, breathing, and caused paralysis from the neck down.<br /><br />
</div>

<div>For those of you who don't know Alexis, she is intelligent, humorous and a caring human being. This young lady is a donator to the National Bone Marrow Transplant List .  She is a proud graduate of U.C. Berkeley, graduating Phi Beta Kappa. In addition, she is a Disney enthusiast,  loving daughter/sister/friend and she was hoping to attend law school in the fall.

<div><strong>The Back Story:</strong>
</div>

<div>December 21st, Alexis (23) was on her way to work at the law office when she was in a motor vehicle accident at 11:18 am. Although little is known now, we know she was stopped at the time and hit from behind by a vehicle moving very fast on the freeway.
</div>

<div>The impact left Alexis unconscious, and luckily there was a nurse at the scene who started CPR immediately. She was taken to Orange County Global Medical Center and put on life support machines. Initial CT scans indicated that the news was bad, and her spine was completely detached from the skull at C1 and C2.
</div>

<div> 
</div>

<div>On December 24th, she went into surgery to stabilize her neck and skull. Later, a tracheotomy was performed to remove the intubation. The next few days would be met with additional surgeries and multiple specialists.
</div>

<div> 
</div>

<div>Fast forward to today, Alexis is still in ICU and has many challenges ahead of her.  Her life has changed forever and we continue to pray for physical and mental healing.
</div>
