Home Repairs & Medicine

My father was born in 49.
He busted his butt off working as a diesel mechanic to support 4 kids and his wife that passed Sept 2019.
Government took majority of his 401k to bail out the rich. No longer has a nest egg.

My dads health is poor; his main conditions are COPD, Emphysema, Congestive Heart Failure, replaced knee, and lower back pain.. He can't walk 20 feet without being out of breath/exhausted. He spends roughly $550 a month on medication and doctor visits.

I argue with him about his smoking but that is like beating a dead horse to make it work more.

Because of Covid19 I moved in with my father to take care of him and assist him. I had spent the last 20 years in Wisconsin (had to move away because my mother/family/associates were toxic). Because of his conditions, I can not work a 9-5 and have enough time with him before he passes. We do some small jobs for people he knows and gets a little cash but it's not enough to be comfortable.; let alone the stress it causes on his heart He's stubborn and wants to do the work because he hates being idle. He doesn't grasp that his heart is what makes him get so exhausted. His work truck just broke down a few days ago and I need to pull the head and get a valve job done on it. He draws around 1600 month from his social security. He is having to provide for my younger sister still who is 37 and mentally ill and she currently off of disability (she was incarcerated and after getting out she didn't respond to the appeal in time) so he has to pay for her medicines and mental health appointments. I attempt to make healthy foods and avoid most of the processed things and as most know healthy eating is not cheap.

His home is literally falling apart. I am doing the repairs but need funds for materials to repair his home. Personally I would be okay with getting another mobile home. So money will either be used to buy another mobile home to replace my childhood home that was burned down or do a major overhaul of his house and fix the landscaping. The house never had proper landscaping and the rains washed the dirt onto the house and caused water damage and termite damage. The house is in the shape of an L and I would love to make it a square instead; by doing this it would make a clean room for my father to be able to stay while I do the repairs needed for his room. Two of the windows in his room are broken and have water rot. Under his bed in the corner you could see the ground if you remove the plastic bags he shoved in the hole. 10 years of filthy carpet matted on the floor. His room is the only room with carpet. My mother was an addict and allowed her "friends" to "fix things and they really messed up the house; claiming to have repaired it; everything I have torn in to has been wrongly done. There is no way that this house is healthy for him. The living room and my moms room leaked water for years and I see mold on the dry wall. I can do the repairs slowly if I had funds. And my dads mattress has holes in it and is over 10 years old. Dad rescued Roscoe (beautiful Pit) and he attempts to kick dad off the bed at night. A replacement bed would probably help his back and hip.

I didn't get a chance to work on reconciliations with my mother before her passing. I'm enjoying having this opportunity to actually know more of my dad and create a bond I always wanted and never had.

God made me capable and I do pretty good in that regard. I am a jack of many trades. I like working with computers and technology. I can work on vehicles, do carpentry, plumbing, electrical, etc. Anyway I am putting things in God's hands. In my opinion God told me that I have to apply myself to get things accomplished so I am reaching out to God's children asking for a little assistance and many prayers.

Understand we are content with anything (prayers are fine). My fathers only complaint is having to pay 150 a month for his heart medicine. I just don't like seeing him having to live like this. I'd love to make him more comfortable. The only reason the number I requested is so high is that would allow him to get a decent mobile home and have it setup, pay his medical needs and repair the vehicle.
