THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR YOUR AMAZING SUPPORT. ALMOST 4 WEEKS HAVE PASSED, AND OVER 100,000 MASKS HAVE BEEN DONATED TO HOSPITALS, POLICE DEPARTMENTS, NURSING HOMES, HOMELESS SHELTERS & MEAL SERVICES, CLINICS, AND OTHER FRONT LINE AGENCIES AROUND THE COUNTRY IN THE BATTLE AGAINST COVID - 19. WE'VE BEEN MOVED TO TEARS MORE THAN ONCE BY YOUR GENEROUS SUPPORT, AND FROM THE GRATITUDE EXPRESSED BY THOSE RECEIVING MASKS. WE FEEL AT THIS TIME THE PPE SUPPLY CHAINS ARE KICKING IN, AND WE NO LONGER NEED DONATIONS. WE WILL CONTINUE TO DONATE MASKS TO THOSE STILL IN NEED.
We saw the need in NYC and had a way to make help happen. Kathleen Plate and I are having masks shipped up from a factory in Mexico so we can get them into the hands of those in need here in the US. Kathleen's brother lives in Mexico and is going daily to the factory producing the masks. Patty, being a New Yorker, knows where they need to go. Masks are being picked up each day from the factory and hand walked to Fed Ex to be sent to the most critical locations. Everyone is in dire need, and the fastest way to get masks to them is to donate rather than go through official procurement channels. We need donations to help buy the masks so we can get them to the front lines fast.
Today we placed the first 13,000 masks with 4,000 going to God's Love We Deliver in NYC, hospitals in Atlanta, Seattle, California, and Albany GA. We have personally heard from one hospital who has volunteers sewing surgical gowns into masks because they are so desperate, and another hospital where the nurses are wearing bandanas because they have nothing.
Please help - we are trying to get as many shipped as fast as possible. We fronted the money for the first 3,000, and as long as we have the funding we can have them to NYC in 24hrs from the time they leave the factory. We are hoping to have another 10,000 shipped by the end of the week, more after that as long as we have the funding to keep them coming.
