My father, Chuck Hughes has been diagnosed with terminal lung, esophagus and brain cancer. He will be leaving the hospital soon and put on hospice care. My Mom will be caring for him most of the time.
This is a scary and sad time. My Mom and Dad have been married for over 40 years and this will be a difficult transition for her. My father has been the provider and of course will be unable to work. While income will cease, the bills will continue to rise. As of right now my Mom will not be able to provide a proper burial or cremation for my Dad.
My parents have always been giving people. I remember not having much as a kid but they would always find a way to help feed neighbors and friends. I hope that through kindness and generosity the financial stress of illness and burial will be one less thing my Mom has to worry about.
