Medical Help for Marcia

Donation protected
Women at Work International and Artus Frank Foundation team up for the purpose of raising money to benefit MEDICAL HELP FOR MARCIA

Here's her story.
In 2011, Marcia gave birth to her son.  After spending 3 hours in surgery, she almost lost all of her blood. Two weeks later, she began to swell all over and was told by her doctor from the Kingdom Care Medical Center on Du-Port Road to seek medical care in Accra Ghana. After being taken to Ghana, she was diagnosed with Kidney Failure and told that she was in dire need of a kidney transplant.

Because of the poor health care system in Liberia, she had to leave her baby at home to go away to get the medical care she needed to survive. She began dialysis  treatments right away in Ghana.  With no improvement in Ghana, her family moved her on to Kenya. Again, she  was encouraged to get a transplant.  By the grace of God, family and friends raised the money they needed for her to receive the transplant kidney from her cousin.  All together, she had 3 surgeries that appeared to be successful. So, on November 8th, 2012, Marcia was reunited with her son.

At this point, Marcia began living a normal life, but her health failed her again. In June 2017, she came down with diarrhea and vomiting that lasted for 3 months. Because Liberia does not have a kidney specialist to treat her, she needed to travel back to Kenya. Using what they had, family and friends raised money on her behalf, but because it took so much time to get the money, Marcia lost the kidney donor when she showed up on September 22, 2017.

Today, Jan 20th, 2018, Marcia was rushed to the hospital in excrutiating pain and is still in need of a donor and money for the transplant surgery. She can only receive these dialysis treatments when the money is available. She is trying to keep the faith, but her body is growing weaker and weaker as the days go by.

How would you feel if Marcia was your wife, your sister, or your daughter?  If there was ever a time to come together and help our sister from Liberia, the time is now.  Over the last 2 years, her world has been turned upside down. Her mother suffered from heartbreak of seeing her suffer that she passed this life, leaving Marcia with a scattered family who is separated because of this illness and the poor healthcare system in LIberia.  Marcia is starting to lose hope. It's bad enough that her health is rapidly failing her, but she has been taken away from the only place she knows as home. Not only is she separated from her son, but she is also not sure when she will see him again.  She has already lost one donor because of money and she can't afford to miss another one.  WE NEED YOUR HELP AND WE NEED IT IMMEDIATELY!

URGENT:
Marcia needs money for transportation, medical espenses, and for the transplant surgery upon successful completon of a donor. Because she was rushed to the hospital today and is currently in ICU, your suppport is needed immediately.
