Medical Fund for Todd Ferguson

Donation protected
My dad, Shannon Todd Ferguson, was originally diagnosed with rectal cancer in September of 2011. Since then, he has undergone several surgeries, been in and out of a "tumor free" state and had several sites of metatstasis including liver, lung and chest wall. He has been treated surgically, with chemo pills, chemo infusions, and radiation and has done his best to continue life as he knows it. Up until one week ago, he was continuing to work full time and do what he loves most, hunt at his land.

While undergoing continued immunotherapy for a tumor in his left rib, his doctor recently found a new tumor at his T4 vertebrae (spine area between his shoulder blades). He had set up an appointment to begin radiation on Monday 1/08/18, but didn't quite make the appointment.

On Friday, January 5th, he was at his deer lease and lost sensation in his legs and ability to walk on his own. He was admitted to the ER in Baylor Mckinney and later transferred to Baylor University Medical Center in downtown Dallas. He underwent an urgent and risky surgery to remove the tumor and stabilize his spine. The neurosurgeon was able to remove the entire tumor and stabilize his spine, which was so incredible to hear. However, here is where the work begins. Only time will tell if he will regain sensation, mobility in his legs and the ability to walk. He will start rehabilitation and radiation ASAP.  I do know one thing, that my dad with not give up and is determined to walk again. We are giving it all to God and it is only by His grace that we have made it this far and have been placed in the hands of talented individuals that keep giving him a fighting chance.

Our family is not one that asks for handouts, and over the 6 years this will be the first time I have posted about his journey with cancer. I have set up this account to try to alleviate the burden of medical bills that will come with the surgeries, aggressive therapy and rehabilitation required. Please do not feel obligated to donate, but we also ask to keep him in your prayers. Thank you and God Bless!
