Medical Fund for Steve Layzell

Donation protected

My high school friend, Steve Layzell, was involved in a terrible car accident on December 20, 2017 when he hit a patch of black ice.  He is in VGH and oundergoing tests to determine the extent of his paralysis. It might be quadriplegic.

Steve has been a volunteer and professional fire fighter for most of his adult years. He has saved many lives and the precious possessions of those caught in fires and other tragedies.

He recently married his wife Karen, a nurse, and they live in Hillsborough, Oregon. Steve was up here visiting family for Christmas. Karen is here with him now and doing everything she can to help him recover.

Unfortunately, Steve no longer has medical insurance here and they are facing mounting costs for his treatment and Karen’s living expenses while she is here.

I am am hoping to raise funds to help them pay for Steve’s hospital stay and for Karen’s food, accommodation, and travel expenses.  They have both given so much to their communities, here and in Oregon.   This is an opportunity to give back.

Steve’s son, Dustin Layzell will be collecting the donations made to Go Fund Me and will be depositing them directly into Steve’s account here in Canada. That way, Steve and Karen can easily access the funds for the many costs associated with his hospital stay and coming rehabilitation therapy.

Thanks so so much for your support!
