Renal Transplant  Medical Fund for Sue and Dan Sutton

Dear Friends,
In this crazy life we live in we all want to live our lives to the fullest yes? For some of us life can take an abrupt turn and not go as smoothly as planned. Here is the story of my dear friends and how I would like to reach out to all of you to help ease the constraints of a road to survival that is ahead of them.

Sue and Dan met in October of 1987 and were married in June 1988. They have one son who is now 26 years old. They reside in PA in the beautiful countryside. Sue was working as a manager at a major craft supply store and Dan has been working as an Ultrasound technologist for 34 years.

Sue was diagnosed with chronic kidney disease four years ago and has recently been on dialysis for 6 months. Unfortunately dialysis is not a permanent solution and to sustain Sue’s life, she is in need of a kidney transplant to survive. Dan selflessly wanted to find out if he could possibly be a tissue match and went under extensive testing. Guess what? Miraculously, he is a perfect match for Sue for kidney donation.

All pre-testing has been completed and they await their scheduled surgery date in August. Sue’s insurance will cover most of the cost of the procedure and a portion is also covered by the American Kidney Foundation. However, to outline the detailed post operative costs following the surgery would be astronomical to begin to list. The anti-rejection drugs will be needed for the rest of her life and the cost for them are in the thousands. Dan, who is the sole income provider, will also be in recovery and unable to work for quite some time. NJ State Disability only covers two thirds of one’s income and for a limited time. The gift of life is more precious than any dollar that you can earn but we all need those dollars to pay our expenses and live our existences.

Sue and Dan have to be the most selfless and kind people I have ever had the pleasure of meeting. I cannot begin to tell you how wonderful a person Sue is. She bestows to everyone her delicious gourmet dishes that she prepares in addition to the best cheesecake on the planet! She is now bringing all her goodies to her dialysis appointments and honoring all the people who care for her in her dialysis treatments.

Dan is one of my dearest friends and co-workers. I’ve had the pleasure of knowing Dan and Sue since 1999. They are two of the greatest people and they deserve, like the rest of us, a long and happy life together.

Please help in your donation. It would greatly be appreciated to help defer the astronomical costs in their post care expenses.

My most sincere an humble thanks to all of you and your support for such wonderful people!
