Medical Fund for Lucas

Hello Friends,

 

    Just before the holiday season began to kick off our dear and wonderful friend Lucas Chubb-Manis experienced some pain in his upper abdomen. The pain became so great he took himself into a local health clinic where they noticed he was jaundiced and needed to seek further assistance at St. Anthony’s Emergency Room in Michigan City, Indiana. The team at St. Anthony's found the cause—a blocked bile duct. A stent was put in place to alleviate the block, and our Lucas was discharged from the hospital and told he could go about his daily life. Within hours, he wound up back at St Anthony's due to agonizing abdominal pain and was diagnosed with pancreatitis, an extremely painful condition caused by inflammation in the pancreas. 



Prior to his discharge, an accidental finding of a skin anomaly on his lower back led to more tests. Sadly, Lucas was diagnosed with Stage III Melanoma, a very aggressive skin cancer. Stage III means the cancer has spread beyond its original site (in Lucas’ case, his lower back) and reached the lymph nodes closest to the tumor. His treatment plan is in place; however, it consists of several expensive procedures and trips to Indianapolis.

With all of the expected expenses, this page has been set up to assist in his treatment and travel costs. Every little bit counts so please do not hesitate to gift any amount that you can spare. We know Lucas is going to kick cancer’s ass!!
