Since 1998, Jennifer Michaels has devoted her career to promoting and enhancing opportunities for students with disabilities to learn with and from their non-disabled peers in inclusive environments. She has experience teaching students with exceptionalities through the full continuum and served as a District ESE Instructional Coach for Teaching and Learning and Transition Services, and currently at FDLRS Action Resource Center as a Florida Inclusion Network (FIN) facilitator. She is devoted to her husband, Scott Welch and is a wonderful mother to her daughter Marina, age 7.
Jenn has been suffering from disabling migranes, extreme neck pain, dizzineness, nausea, vomiting, blurred vision, tinnitus, numbness and diminished cognitive effiency since February 2017. As a result she has been unable to drive or even do simple household activities. She has been diagnosed with Craniocervical Instability, Chiari Malformation and later learned the underlying causes of these conditions are Connective Tissue Disorder called Ehelers Danlos Syndrome (EDS). EDS causes connective tissue to break down in the body and ligaments stretch to the point that it can no longer hold vertebrae in place, the brain's cererbellum drops and corks the spinal cord passageway preventing proper Cerebrospinal fluid to flow to the brain. Thankfully, Jenn will be served by a renowned neurosurgeon in Maryland who has published excellent surgical outcomes-completely resolving or majorly reducing the brain stem dysfunctions she is experiencing with patients who share this diagnosis.
Jenn has an unmoveable faith in the Lord, and she along with her family and friends are believing in God for totally healing and restoration. As you can imagine, the cost of her treatment is not covered by insurance.
