Medical fund for Ethan Monsalve

Ethan Monsalve is a 9 year old boy with Asperger’s and Sensory Processing Disorder who has been in the critical care ICU at CHOA since Feb 6th. He has had 2 hospital transfers for his condition. Ethan suffered 5 blood clots in his portal vein and is battling necrotic pancreatitis. Necrotic pancreatitis is extremely rare in children. His pancreas’ tail, body, and some of the head is dead. The pancreas has formed a pseudo cyst which is taking up a very large portion of his abdomen. The surgeon says it’s the largest she has ever seen in a child. Everyday is bringing new symptoms and challenges that are being addressed. His doctors are doing everything they can and will only take things day by day. He has gone through 6 surgeries, blood transfusions, testing, drained over 3 liters of fluid off his abdomen and chest, and unbearable pain. His condition is worsening and unfortunately they will not go near his pancreas because he is so sick and it is “angry”. The family is in the process of getting a referral to the Cincinnati pancreas center for children. The family could use any help with their bills and Ethan’s care as Dad is the only income. God Bless!
