"Two injured, one critically, after Near East Side shooting"—not something you would think to hear your friend was involved in. On Saturday, September 21st Tom was caught in the middle of a drive by shooting and was shot in the neck/jaw area. He recently bought a house and was on his way back from his storage unit with his nine-year-old son in a U-Haul truck when he was struck by stray bullets. The bullet fragments landed on his carotid artery and shattered his jaw. We are so thankful that Grant Medical Hospital saved his life. Tom will have to have multiple surgeries and we can’t even imagine the costs. We’re not sure how long he will be out of work and even if his insurance will cover all costs. Its sad to think that in one second an innocent life was altered drastically by being shot just trying to move his stuff to his new house. As far as we know, Tom will have to pay for everything his insurance doesn’t cover. Any donations will help Tom cover these costs and will make sure that money isn’t something he has to worry about when trying to recover.
