Medical expenses for Michelle

Dave and Michelle Ledbetter have been together for over twenty years. Dave has been a maintenance worker with the county parks for the last eight years, while being in food service for twelve years before that. Michelle Is a homemaker and the mother of four children. She is an avid quilter and a member of the Idyllwild quilters club. She finds peace and comfort in the outdoors making Idyllwild the perfect place to live. Michelle has been diagnosed with stage four cervical cancer. She has completed chemotherapy and radiation regimens and is now being administered megase, a hormone treatment for cancer patients and is just starting a daily chemo pill, with a new type of antibody treatment administered by i.v. every three weeks. Her doctors are attempting to shrink tumors to the point where they can be removed surgically. Although weakened and in pain she remains optimistic about her future as she works through her treatments. Michelle is a very strong woman. The Ledbetter's are now facing many financial challenges as they work to beat this cancer. The chemo pills alone are just under $400.00 for a thirty days supply. Their insurance covers much of michelle's treatments but they are left with the responsibilities of procedures not covered and all the various copays. Transportation to and from out of town appointments has also proven to be expensive. One treatment was an hour and a half one way daily for two weeks. We have set up a gofundme account for Michelle with a goal of $5,000. We ask all to help in any way you can and to pass this post on for others to see.
