<div> Hello everyone, I am Missy's sister. Over the last year she has been struggling with some health issues. We thought everything was under control until October 8, 2023 Below is her story and the need for the fundraiser to help Missy and her family carry through as the medical teams work on a direction for her medical needs. This process is going to take months, possibly over a year.

<div>In 2022, Melissa (Missy) was hospitalized for severe pain in her abdomen. The doctors discovered a large endometrial mass that was encompassing her abdominal aorta. She was treated for pain and released.

<div>Now, on October 8th of this year, Melissa was once again admitted into the hospital for severe pain in her abdomen. After a CT scan, it was determined that the mass has grown and is now encompassing not only her abdominal aorta, but also her inferior vena cava (IVC), left ureter, and was pressing on her left kidney. She also has a blood clot in her IVC. Blood thinners were administered for the blood clot. Those however, caused a hemorrhage in the endometrial mass and had to be discontinued. Doctors are not sure on their next course of action.

<div>She is currently waiting for a bed to become available at the University of Minnesota. This is an extremely rare condition and therefore the doctors are unsure of their options. Surgery would be very dangerous and potentially life threatening, therefore not an option. They will consult with other professionals to decide on the best treatment plan.

<div>Melissa is a teacher at a daycare/learning center. She is loved by the children she teaches as well as the children’s parents. With her medical condition however, she is unable to work. It will be months or more before she will return to work.

<div>She has her husband, 2 young children and a granddaughter at home waiting for her to get better and come home. They are however, falling behind on bills and medical expenses are mounting daily.

<div>This is a wonderful family and Melissa is suffering with this debilitating condition. Please help them out any way you can. Prayers are also needed and greatly appreciated.
