Medical Expenses for Kim Haut

Kim Haut is a married 28-year-old mother of one daughter that has been diagnosed with Spondylolisthesis, which has caused her severe pain, permanent nerve damage and she will be facing more surgeries in the future. Kim was also diagnosed with Histoplasmosis.  This disease was unknown to them until Kim needed back surgery and became very ill afterward.  She was convinced to go to Mayo Clinic for answers since she wasn't getting answers locally.  The doctors there gave her the diagnosis of Histoplasmosis, and are currently planning for future treatments.  However, her insurance company isn't willing to pay for that visit because of a "lack of referral" from her doctor.  This is in addition to previous medical bills leading up to the diagnosis of both the spinal surgery and the Spondylolisthesis. Kim is hopeful that one day she will be able to pick up and hold her 5-year-old daughter Emily again without severe pain.
