Medical Expenses for Julie Adams

Imagine something is wrong. You’re not well and the emotional roller coaster of receiving multiple diagnoses ranging from cancer to multiple sclerosis over a period of years. At long last, it is determined that you have Lyme Disease. Precious time was lost when early intervention was critical. As we know, Lyme Disease is very difficult to detect but treatable if diagnosed early. You finally have a definitive answer but then course of treatment becomes a guessing game. Total frustration sets in when what proves to be successful for one patient does not work for you and your immune system is severely compromised. It’s an uphill struggle. Further obstacles arise when medications and treatments are not covered by insurance when categorized as experimental. Numerous doctor appointments, blood tests, antibiotics, a PICC line, infusions; the list seems endless and at times futile. All of your hard work and life savings diminish with the blink of an eye. For everyone who knows Julie, you are acutely aware of the challenges she has experienced and continues to face.

Julie is enormously proud and extremely hesitant. I must make it abundantly clear that it took A LOT of convincing to get her approval to venture down this road. Nevertheless, I am sure you will agree that this is lending a helping hand to a friend and by no means a hand out.

Julie took some time to solely concentrate on getting well. She endured twice weekly IV Ozone and IV Laser treatments at a cost of $2,500.00. The next step she has decided to take is stem cell treatment which requires payment in advance estimated at $6,500 for the stems cells alone. There are additional costs associated with the various other supportive treatments in preparation for and conjunction with the stem cells.

Through it all Julie remains positive and hopeful. She, along with Vince who has been amazingly supportive and by her side, simply wishes for the day to come when she can begin to enjoy and live life again instead of merely existing.
