Medical Expenses for Dwayne Guynes

Donation protected
If you know my husband, Dwayne, you know he's never been a sick man. He is an outstanding man who goes above and beyond to help everyone; friends, family, neighbors even strangers. At 5am on Friday February 9th, he had what we initially had thought was a seizure, upon being rushed to St. Elizabeths it was discovered that rather than a seizure, Dwayne, had suffered from a cerebral AVM level 4 of 5 (brain aneurysm), the doctors stated that Dwayne (now 40) has had this AVM his whole life and it chose this day to rupture. It was then that St. Elizabeth's doctors recommend the best Neurologist was at Tulane Regional Medical Center in New Orleans, where Dwayne had been airlifted immediately.

Immediately upon arrival at Tulane Regional Medical Center, a surgery was performed to remove part of the level 4 AVM. The doctor came to explain that the major goal was to keep him alive, in which they did, however, he is in very bad shape. They know they have to remove the remainder of the AVM, however, we must wait 5 days for the swelling in the brain and for the brain itself to heal in order for doctors to go back in. Also, an MRI was done to know the exact location of the AVM to know just what could be effected by its removal during the surgery. the results of the MRI proved what we had already knew, that the left side of his body is very weak, and the doctors believe he will be paralyzed. Holding high hopes that he holds strong the next few days, on Saturday morning he started with a fever of 102. Following the fever later that evening he broke out into a series of seizures, which followed by him becoming 100% dependent on the ventilator. Sunday, we continue into a downward spiral as we find out he has pneumonia and his lungs begin to collapse.

As you can see his other main organs are beginning to be affected, this is where Dwayne and his family could use your support due the heavy medical expenses. This man who has never been sick a day in his life, worked hard every single day to provide for his own, and make sure that he never has to ask for help, is now laying helpless in a hospital bed fighting for his life.
