Las Vegas Shooting Victim - Amanda

In the late hours of October 1, 2017, Amanda Peterson was one of the many victims who was shot while attending the Rt. 91 Harvest Festival in Las Vegas, Nevada. She is currently in critical, but stable condition at the Sunrise Hospital in the Cardiac ICU.
My name is Sheila Decker and I live in Sterling Colorado and I have been Amandas best friend since we both attended Chiropractic school in 2007. I have made this go fund me account so I can help amanda out anyway I can while she is recovering and not working to pay her bills and every day necessities. I will be withdrawing the money for amanda and paying these bills for her or anything else she may need during this recovery time. This will also pay her unforeseen medical expenses in the future.
Amanda is one of the most kind, giving souls to have graced so many of our lives. She is also an amazing mother to Jacen, a beautiful six-year old boy who needs his mommy to get better. As a Chiropractor and healer, she has nursed so many of us to health and has been there when we needed her most. It is our turn to give back as Amanda's Army.
Amanda received a gunshot wound to her lower back that impacted her aorta, stomach, spleen, liver and kidneys. The type of bullet she was hit with fragmented like shrapnel instead of just exiting the other side of the body. This is why so many of her organs have been damaged. Amanda had surgery to remove the bullet and repair the extensive damage to her aorta and the left side of her stomach. During this surgery they had to cross clamp her aorta while repairing it – causing her kidneys to have no blood for an hour. Once the aorta was repaired they were able to let blood flow back to the kidneys.
She is currently on a ventilator, but is slowly coming in and out of consciousness. She will be having a second surgery on October 4 to close her abdomen wound and ensure that there is no additional damage to her organs. Updates will be posted as we know more.
We don't know a long-term prognosis at this point, but her livelihood depends on her physical health. Please help in any way that you can whether it be monetarily for medical needs or simply saying a few extra prayers for our girl to get her back on her feet and back to being 100% as soon as possible.
