Medical expenses for Ben Francis

Those of you who know Ben Francis understand his love for racing. After many years of it, his luck took a turn for the worst Sunday at the local hare scramble series.

While racing, he crashed his bike and suffered a broken femur, torn ligament and a cracked patella along with a few other minor injuries.

He was taken via ambulance to Marietta Memorial’s Belpre Campus where it was determined he would need immediate surgery. He was transported again, via ambulance to Ruby Memorial Hospital for surgery and recovery.

He made it through surgery, however there was a lot more damage to the surrounding tendons than the doctor originally thought and he will most likely have to undergo a second surgery in a couple weeks to reconstruct the tendons.

Ben works in the Carpenters Union and will be off work for approximately 4-5 months depending on his recovery time and mobility.

During this time we ask that everyone keep him in your thoughts and prayers for a quick and easy recovery.
