Medical Equipment for Brian

Donation protected

This is the first time I have ever done a go fund page I’m not even sure if I have done it correct. This is such a sad story to write but a horrible journey he has been through and it still continues now.  I would be so grateful if you could read our story and ask any questions of you need to.

Please could you donate towards my farther funds and please help him to enjoy the final months that he has got left and be able to spend it with family. I love my dad so much he is my hero he is the strongest man I ever no he has been through so many operation and I am trying to get together all the medical equipment to make his life a little bit easier n try n put a smile back on his face.

I don’t have many pictures because he doesn’t like them been taken but with your help we can put a smile on his face n get a picture taken. Please help!!

I have never asked or done this before but I just want to give my dad this one last wish and try to get a smile on is face for once he doesn’t smile anymore because he has nothing to smile for anymore.  I love him to bits and he is in pain all the time and I wish I could take the pain away.

His veins have closed down because of all the canulars he has had over the years so they have to use the scanner/ultrasound or scan on him before they even try to put one in as they clasped straight away causing them to blow and getting infection.  I watched them try 17 times from the back of his hands (21st July 2019) to the middle of arms to the top of his arms and watching the pain on is face breaks my heart. When they manage to get one in it lasts 2-3 days because it starts swelling up or there is a blocked in it then it has to be removed and another one fitted it got that bad he had to have it in his groin.

My farther has chronic crohn disease he has had this horrible illness since he was 21 he is now 64 This illness has taken away his life independence and job.

My farther is the strongest man I ever no he is my hero if you could ever met him you will agree.

He has had a stoma bag on since his late 20s because he has only a tiny part of his bowl left because it has been removed he has had over 60 operation and just by looking at his stomach it tells you a story.

My father now has a TPN line Total Parenteral Nutrition (feeding line) he has to be connected to a feeding bag for 12 hours a day because this is the only thing that they can do for him as everything he eats or drinks he doesn’t absorb it and it just comes out of him again.

He now get infections every 3-7 weeks then he has to have it removed and another one fitted because this helps him to keep weigh on. He is in Sheffield at the minute he has got sepsis he had to be rushed to ICU where he stayed for week they again said it would be touch a go he has now moved to a ward and awaiting to  have a new food line fitted!! He has had to have 12 food line fitted because they just keep getting infections.

When my dad started with this illness they said his children wouldn’t get it and if they would it would be me (youngest) or my brother (middle) my sister is the oldest and she was 18 month old before my father started to be ill. However she got the horrible illness, sadly she wasn’t strong enough to fight the pain and the operation and she passed away at a young age of 27 5/9/05 he has blame himself ever since.

My dad, mum n nephew was in a massive road accident in Feb 2019. My mum n nephew got took via ambulance to Doncaster hospital but my dad had to be airlifted to Sheffield hospital. He was a mess and we didn’t think he was going to pull through it. He has to learn to walk again I was by his side every single day. He was rushed into the ICU where he was there for 4 weeks it was touch and go then he was moved to the OT ward still at Sheffield.

Sadly my farther has now got COPD he has also got blood clots on his lungs and awaiting a life changing operation at Cambridge to remove the clots which would give him 5 extra plus  years sadly he was supposed to have it on 27 June but he has a heart attack so he couldn’t go.

My farther has only been given 6/7 months to live, he only has 30% lung function working he is on oxygen and house bond. The nurses come out twice a day to connect him to his food line and disconnect.

I am trying to raise funds to purchased some special medical equipment to support him daily. My farther needs a chair for the shower (he is not even able to go in the shower) and bath, he needs a electric double bed to keep him sat up right to support him to be able to breathe and comfortable chair to support him to get up out of the bed for a while so he is able to watch TV and get out of bed as he is laid in bed which doesn’t help his chest etc as he is laid down all the time.

I am wanting to try and get my dad to go up and down the street to help him get some fresh air or even round the block however he needs a mobility scooter n wheelchair without these things etc he will not be able to enjoy the time he has got left with his family.

He is so ill that he is not able to  go any where n does nothing because he is just not fit enough or when feels a tiny bit better n wants to go out but he can’t n doesn’t have the equipment.

I would like to take my dad away for a few days because he has not been anywhere since my sister past away and because his illness has got worse.

My farther has been in n out of hospital all his life and I would love just to take him away for change of view however before I can even do that he will need to make sure we have medical equipment.

I would be so grateful if you could donate toward my farther funds and please help him to enjoy the last few months of his life that he has got left and be able to spend it with family.

I love my dad he is my hero he is the strongest man I ever no he has been through so many operation and get all the medical equipment to make his life a little bit easier n try n put a smile back on his face,

I am 37 in November and I have grown up with my dad being in hospital all my life. My mum has had to be mum n dad but I wouldn’t have it any other way. They have made me into the strong person who I am today!! He has been in ICU covered in pipes n lines and it breaks my heart I want to help him. I’ve had to teach him how to walk again n even turn the TV over please can you help!!

Please see the pictures above of my father and these are only a few that I have taken of him while he has been in hospital.

If you need any questions answering please let me know I don’t mind answering any of them. Massive thank you for your time and help and reading and your donations this will change my fathers life so much.

On Tuesday 6th August sadly my farther has been assaulted on  the hospital ward at Sheffield by another patient. My farther did nothing the guy walked over to him picked up the jug of water and smashed it over his head and ear the guy had also grabbed my dad by his throat leaving my farther needing medical treatment! My dad has come home today on day realise (8th August) his head has been cut n needed a CT scan and treatment even needed his hair cutting and he is so frightened on the Ward. My farther is still waiting to have his feeding tube fitted then he is able to come home. My poor dad doesn’t need this if it wasn’t for the nurse who saw it happen it could of been a lot worse!!

Things we are raising for: defibrillator, electric bed, electric scooter, wheelchair, blood pressure machine.

Thank you for your support, please keep sharing for me!!
