Emergency for Police Officers Sons Battling Cancer

Since the viral video of Officer Chris Frunzi and I sharing a hug during the Charlotte riots, he and I have become great friends. We have worked on various community projects together and have plans to do so much more.
Right now, he and his family are going through a difficult time as his son, Jackson, is undergoing chemotherapy after being diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia. Jackson was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes in January 2019 before receiving the news of his leukemia diagnosis just a few weeks ago.
Chris and his wife have been traveling from Charlotte, NC to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Tennessee to be with their son. The time in the hospital plus travel has made it difficult for them to attend work regularly. All the funds raised from this campaign will go towards helping their family through this difficult time.

***Update to the story. Jackson went into remission and traveled back to Charlotte to continue his two and a half years of chemo treatments to make sure the cancer stays away. Three days after the family returned home, they took their 18 month old to the hospital because he was unsteady on his feet, upset and couldn’t walk anymore. At the hospital they found out that he has a brain tumor called Medulloblastoma. On top of dealing with Jackson’s chemo and diabetes, they now had to figure out how to juggle both boys as Bennett underwent brain surgery to remove part of the tumor. There is still a piece left because of the area it is in. It was too dangerous to remove it all. After the tumor was removed, the whole family traveled back to St. Jude in Memphis to start intense chemo and radiation treatments for Bennett and continue the treatment for Jackson. Now both of their boys are having to go through the long journey together. Family Never Fights Alone!!
