Medical Emerg- Leg amputation

Donation protected
My name is Cindy, I live just South of Dallas, TX, and I need your help for my son Tim Alexander. He recently had his right leg amputated above the knee, and he is battling uncontrolled Diabetes, MRSA, and Adult ADHD. The hospital sent him home with a walker, and he fell twice trying to get to the bathroom. We were able to find a used wheelchair, which is helping a great deal, but he needs help with so many things that I know that I need to be there with him. He still wakes up in shock that his leg is gone. For a few moments, he forgets and tries to get out of bed and then it all comes crashing back to him.

He has been battling uncontrolled Diabetes, MRSA, and untreated Adult ADHD for several years now. He has gone through 4 toe amputations and countless times in outpatient care at Baylor Hospital for eight weeks at a time of follow-up IV antibiotic treatments. Tim thought that he was doing better, and believed that he was controlling his illnesses, but he wasn't. He ended up in the ER and then in ICU at Charlton Methodist Hospital on July 28th. They were rushing him for a decision to amputate above his ankle because they said that he had Necrotic Fasciitis (flesh-eating bacteria,) and he was Sepsis. They did amputate on the 28th above the ankle and took him to ICU because they couldn't control his blood sugar. The next morning they got the results back that he had a total of 6 bacterial infections including Septic Shock, and they needed to amputate above the infection (meaning above the knee at mid-thigh.)

Due to his illnesses over the last five years, and my being on SS and fighting my own health problems we have lost everything. I was renting a room from someone, and Tim was living somewhere else, but now I need to be able to help him and make sure that he eats right and takes care of himself, so I need to get us into a place together. I have filed for disability for him, and we are waiting for a decision. I have also submitted for medical help for him until he can get on Medicaid. His Insulin is $700 for a months supply. The hospital had given us a voucher and written a prescription to match it, but that insulin has not been controlling his blood sugar. It is still in the 300 and 400's. He needs to be on the proper type of insulin (the one they originally wanted him on,) but I can't afford it. He also needs to be on medication for his ADHD so that he is balanced. I have filed for all of the benefits that will help him to get better, but it will take a little time to get approval.

I need help, please. If you can't help financially then could you please help me to share this on social media? I am hoping that some kind-hearted strangers will understand what I am going through with my son, and help me to help him until he can get his benefits started. If people could help me with even a small amount that would add up to my being able to get his medication and get us into a little rent house or mobile home that I can afford on my SS until he is getting benefits to help. I don't have parents or grandparents alive to help, so I am asking for help from my fellow human beings.

Please at least consider sharing this so that hopefully it will find those who can and care enough to help me to get us into a safe place and to get his medication.

Thank you to all who care enough to help in any way that you can.
