Medical Debt from emergency C-Section

Theodore was born in October of 2019.  My wife was a bit overdue but our midwife told us everything was just fine and the baby would come when he was ready.  Fast forward many days post dates and more than 36 hours in to labor and my wife was in excruciating pain and the baby just didn’t seem to be getting any closer to coming.  The midwife continued to insist everything was fine and that she wasn’t trying hard enough.

My wife and I dreamt of having a beautiful baby born into our arms in a water birth at our home.  What ended up happening was a stressful trip in the middle of the night to the local hospital for an emergency C-section to get our baby out.  Theodore is fine and there were no complications.

Despite the hospital operating as a charity hospital we remain saddled with tens of thousands of dollars in medical debt that could have been avoided had our care provider been paying attention and more professional.

I never ever wanted to be in this position.  I’ve always prided myself on being able to provide for my family and take care of them.  At this point I don’t know what else to do.  I’m begging anyone, please, if you have only $5 to donate to helping us pay off this debt we would be so happy to be able to focus what finances we do have onto our growing family.  I’m not able to put any money I make away, it all goes to debt and I can’t even put any towards this medical debt yet.  $5 is really all it’s take from a few people to help this go away.  Thank you for your time and God bless you.
