Medical costs for Stephanie

Donation protected
On December 25th Stephanie was taken to the hospital by ambulance due to violent vomiting that would not cease and overall being in pain. At the time we related this to a scheduled surgery she had, just recently, on December 17th for a female issue. Once she arrived at the hospital, they began running tests. Her blood sample came back normal, but a CAT scan showed something in her lower abdomen. The doctor then stated that often times when someone has a recent abdominal surgery a CAT scan can show an unclear reading in that area and that could be what he was seeing, or it could be a perforation of some sort. The doctor decided to do an emergency surgery. Her surgery from December 17th was preformed laparoscopic, however, with the severity that could be that was not an option. They had to make a large incision from her upper torso down below her belly button. Once inside they found a perforation in her colon causing contents from her bowelto leak into her body causing a fatal infection. During the emergency surgery they were very close to her bladder and nicked it, causing a urologist having to be called in to repair it.
After 4 hours in the operating room, the doctor came out to speak with her husband, Aaron. He let him know what all had taken place during the surgery and that if she had not been brought to the hospital when she was then she would not have made it. He also told him that they were leaving the surgical site open and were going to pack it to soak up the infection. He continued to let him know that they were sending off a piece of her colon to be tested and this piece of the colon would have to be replaced in her body in a couple of months. At this point Stephanie was put in the CICU unit for close monitoring. She has now been moved into a regular room with hopes of being out of the hospital in 3 weeks.

This gofundme account was created because I have had multiple people reach out asking if they could donate for her medical expenses and any other costs that may arise because of this. I figured using a donation site was the safest and easiest way for those who would like to give can.

Many thanks,
One of her daughters, Michelle
