Medical Costs for Dovey and Smiley

Donation protected

Last Monday, two of Ann Kitchel's (Huntington Farm) fillies contracted Equine Proliferative Enteropathy. EPE is a serious disease of the small intestine caused by the obligate intracellular bacterium, Lawsonia intracellularis.

More info on the disease can be found at this link: https://www.hagyard.com/lawsonia-intracellularis?fbclid=IwAR1-zWUuuYLUbSFC_HfPhCspeqRxOqD5ynUIjhk4K6Zhl7CjKj6YRK4QNPQ

Smiley (age 1) and Dovey (age 2) have been at New England Equine in Dover, NH since Friday, November 13th where both are currently being treated but still remain in very critical condition. Medical expenses and treatment thus far have already exceeded $15,000. Ann is not one to ask for help but these expenses are overwhelming. Any donations to help cover their medical costs would be so greatly appreciated.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me (Charlotte Jolin) through Facebook.
