Medical Care and Baby Care for Jenny

Donation protected
Thank you for considering giving to our dear coworker Jenny. Jenny Brenneman has been dealing with some serious health issues recently and suddenly found herself with difficulty breathing and large amounts of fluid on her lungs. Additionally, Jenny and Kris are pregnant and due the middle of March with their first child. After extensive testing the first part of November 2019, Jenny received an official diagnosis of acute Lymphoblastic Lymphoma, specifically T-Cell Lymphoblastic Lymphoma. After meeting with oncologists, hematologists, cardiothoracic specialists and maternal/fetal oncologists...they currently working with a plan that will hopefully work best for Jenny's treatment while keeping baby as safe as possible. Over the course of several weeks, Jenny has undergone bone marrow biopsies, a PICC line placement, cardiac drains, high doses of steroids, lumbar punctures, echocardiograms, and close monitoring with extensive stays in the Cardiac ICU. She has named her tumor in her chest ‘Elvira’ and it has caused numerous extensive complications. Furthermore, for their family, Kris has had to move up to Portland and rent out an apartment for them while treatments are undergoing.

This GoFundMe has been set up for Jenny due to problems with insurance and the massive hospital bills and insurance deductibles for both Jenny and the baby since she will be undergoing treatment for likely greater than 2 years. Unfortunately, the Good Samaritan Regional Medical Center where Jenny worked prior to all of this has cut her insurance due to her not being able to work her regular hours. Additionally, she does not qualify for Oregon Health Plans which will cost her and Kris extensive out-of-pocket insurance costs of $1000 or more per month for both her and potentially the baby after delivery as well.

Treatment for Jenny includes chemo closely regulated by both her maternal/fetal oncologist as well as hematologists and oncologists at OHSU, serial lumbar punctures to monitor for those sneaky lymphoma cells, and close monitoring of her baby until she can deliver her baby Girl. Also, she will have to have the baby delivered possibly as early as 34 weeks requiring neonatal intensive care potentially after delivery as well as close monitoring for both Jenny and baby after delivery. She is currently out of the hospital but frequently must spend time in the hospital for chemotherapy and close monitoring.
