Aloha Everyone,
We would like to share our story with all of you. My fiance, Chevell, and I have 3 beautiful daughters, Kailah (8), Cookie (4) and Ryleigh (2months). We have always felt blessed because our children are all healthy and our lives have been content. About 2 weeks ago I was at work (I'm a carpenter) and had a cough except I was coughing out blood. Towards the end of the day I felt like my nose was draining/running but when I wiped it, I had a nose bleed. I called my fiance and we met at the ER. The doctors ran some test and discovered that my blood counts and levels was low. They had no immediate explanantion or diagnosis and said I would need a bone marrow biopsy. I coudn't understand what was happening especially since I didn't feel sick at all. The following day I went in to see my PCP and he confirmed that I needed a bone marrow biopsy to get a diagnosis but he also instructed me to go straight to the ER if I had a fever. The following night I came down with a fever and I went back to the ER. That night they informed me I needed a blood transfusion because my counts were really low and the doctors decided to do the bone marrow biopsy that day. Chevell and I were told that we wouldn't get results until Monday since the test was performed on a friday but a couple hours later the blood team returned to tell me that I have leukemia. My life hasn't been the same. I have been receiving chemo therapy daily and haven't left the hospital since the night I had the fever. We are a young family and I would never ask for help but any donations would help towards my medical bills and support our family. I would like to thank my family for helping to care for my children while I go through treatment. We humbly ask for donations or prayers and thank you for taking the time to read our story.
