Hi, my name is Alia, and I'm studying to be a vet tech. I work full time helping look after other peoples' beloved pets, including helping low income individuals get assistance from charities to get medical care for their pets, our clinic donates food to rescues, spay and neuter through the SPCA programs, and even go to homes of the elderly and disabled just to help trim their cats claws because it's difficult for them to do it themselves. I love what I do, but right now my own pets need help too.
Yam has inner ear damage she's had since she was a very small kitten, she came into my care as a rescue foster and never left. She started having seizures due to this inner ear issue last year and the medical bills over the last two years have been adding up. She needs a procedure that is going to cost $2000-3000 to help try and fix things in her little noggin to hopefully give her relief and prevent more issues going forward. She's a handful, and not very nice to the vet staff, but everyone loves her shenanigans anyway.
Meanwhile, my special needs elderly cat Thor was diagnosed with oral cancer, it's terminal and ended up costing me $3500. My boss has been very kind to allow me to pay it in lumps, but it's drained all the funds I had set aside for Yam and then some. We're spending our last bit of time together and saying goodbye soon, and I'm exhausted. When it rains it pours.
I'd like to get this debt paid off as soon as possible so I don't have it hanging over me and I can save up to get Yam the help she needs soon, and stop stressing so I can grieve for Thor and enjoy what little time we have left peacefully. Most of all, I want to be able to give my pets the same love and care I try my best to give everyone else's. They mean the absolute world to me.
Even a couple of dollars would go a long way in easing that burden and I would greatly appreciate it.
