Hey everybody!
A couple of months ago, I was diagnosed with a brain tumor surrounding the optic nerve of my left eye. I have been losing vision in that eye for quite some time which was the first cue that something was wrong. The prognosis on whether or not it is benign is unclear due to the atypical appearance of the tumor. There is a lean toward benign.
It has been recommended that I have fractionated radiation treatment done which I will be doing at MD Anderson in Houston starting in 2 weeks. (That is coming up fast!) The goal of the radiation is to stop the growth of the tumor. The vision I have lost may or may not be restored. Furthermore, there are quite a few risks involved in exposing that part of my brain to radiation which (I’m foreseeing now) causes this one medical issue of having a tumor to evolve into other medical issues over time and a lot of follow-up visits and MRIs in the future.
Will you, if you have the ability to, help me financially and/or in spirit with prayer for this first season of healing my body? The radiation treatment is a 6 week endeavor for which I will need to stay in Houston. I am about to sign a lease for a place that will cost me roughly $1500 dollars which does not include food expenses, and then there’s the actual medical expenses which include doctor’s appointments, MRIs, other types of imaging, parking, the actual radiation treatment itself, follow-up visits later down the road and I’m sure other unforeseeable expenses.
