Medical Bills after COVID, a Stroke and Cancer.

Hi,

Robin's husband and friends have started a GoFundMe to help her with medical expenses. Robin's husband John Penwarden, is a Medically Retired Disabled Veteran that has survived a Brain Aneurysm. Living on a fixed income.

Have created a GoFundMe page for my wife Robin who was a Nurse at the Portland V.A. - Vancouver CLC Hospice Unit for 14 years.

In January 2022 Robin contracted COVID-19 at work. Several weeks later at the end of February, she returned to work. To suffer a disabling stroke just a few days later on February 22. Robin has not been able to work since.

Then as Robin was getting through her various therapies from the stroke it was found she had cancer. In late December she underwent surgery and had her right kidney and ureter removed. As far as John and Robin know from the various follow-up exams, labs and tests. Robin has been cancer-free since that time. The V.A. permanently retired Robin on March 1st, 2023.

As mentioned she has been without any income since the stroke in February and times have certainly become lean here.

Robin received a Letter of Indebtedness in April 2023

from the U.S. Government for her Employee Sponsored Medical Insurance.

It is several thousand dollars and gaining interest every month since May.

We have depleted our savings and all resources this past year surviving.

We have managed to pay all our bills.

Seeking donations to help Robin with her medical expenses.
