As many of you know I have been going through a hard time with my pre-diabetic condition. I have not felt right for months and finally checked myself into the emergency room. After a 4 hour visit to Baylor I received a bill for over $5000. Understand all they did was run blood tests, two IV drips and give me some insulin. They put me on Metformin but it did not drop my levels any. I ended up going to a place that said they will help me with low cost heath care and after paying a $30 co-pay and speaking to the doctor for 30 minutes I get another bill for $100. They never said there was anything extra and I feel like I have been scammed once again by the medical industry. I am supposed to be getting the insulin soon so I can start feeling better but I am waiting on a program that will allow me to get it for free. I am in negotiations with Baylor to lower the cost on these bills due to the financial situation. This will help me get caught up on some of medical bills as well as help with normal expenses. I never wanted to do this and I am really behind on my bills and I am worried about losing my home. So here it is... I am sorry it has come to this and I feel totally ashamed about doing this.
