Medfield Environment Action

Medfield Environment Action (MEA) is an organization of residents who share information about the environment and climate emergency to empower local action.    Our goal is to educate and connect citizens to work together for solutions.

We are raising funds to support our activities.  These expenses include:
- outreach materials
- promotion of our organization in town to build community
- professional webinars (eg. Zoom license)
- website hosting and administrative expenses
- distribution of our newsletter
- development of tools for residents to use to reduce their carbon footprint

Initiatives to date:
* Produced Webinars to inform the community including:
    - Medfield Decarbonizers featuring local residents who’ve worked toward decarbonization at their homes  (electric vehicles, solar, heatpumps)
    - Net Zero Home – recommended process for reducing your energy  use and costs in your home (insulation, solar, heatpumps)
    - Climate Goals Forum – why Climate goals are important for Medfield to adopt
    - Community Choice Aggregation – what it is and why Medfield should move forward with this win-win program
* Conducted a community-wide survey on residents' opinions on climate change.
* Gathered support for a net-zero elementary school (ongoing)
* Co-sponsored Shoe-in for Climate Awareness with the Unitarian Universalist Church
* Developed a website, Meamedfield.org
* Distributed monthly newsletters
