<div>Hello, my name is Isbjörn and I'm launching <strong>MEBÖKO</strong>, a company making artisanal hot sauces, chili paste and pickles.
</div>
<div>I live in the South-West of France, but I've spent most of my life in Africa, where I've had the chance to work as an ecolodge manager, safari guide and photographer. In 2020, the Covid pandemic brought this life to an abrupt end and I was repatriated to France. I had to rebuild my life. It was a long and winding road, and it's only now, in 2025, that I have the immense pleasure of presenting you with my exciting project: MEBÖKO.

<div><strong>The origin of the project</strong>

<div>After so many years in some of Africa's most beautiful game reserves, a new adventure was called for. Still in the hotel business (but more traditional), I worked in some fine châteaux, eventually becoming the director of one of them. In February 2024, a health problem forced me to take a break. During my convalescence, I realized that I wasn't happy in this new professional life. I missed the exoticism and warmth of Africa, and I simply wasn't fulfilled.

<div>To reconnect, I concentrated on my garden and, of course, planted some chilies: a little taste of Africa to keep me going! With them, I made a few preparations to share these warm flavours with those around me. The response was unanimous: I just had to have more! My recipes from elsewhere were a real success. The idea was taking shape. Chilies, so fiery and colourful, were a link in my journey. This new “safari” was called MEBÖKO.

<div>I'm setting up a food processing business specializing in chilies and pickles. The chilies will be grown organically in Dordogne, a few kilometers from where I live. The products will be marketed directly (B2B, B2C) and also via an e-commerce platform currently under development.
</div>
<div><strong>2025</strong> is the launch year, with limited production to reduce risks and adjust the range according to customer feedback.
</div>
<div><strong>2026 </strong>will see an expansion of the range, a significant increase in production and the development of further distribution channels.
</div>

<div><strong>The products</strong>

</div>
<div>The range includes chili pastes, hot sauces, pickles, smoked chilies and chili oils. For the pastes and sauces, there will be between 3 and 4 each, with different levels of spiciness. Each recipe highlights a geographical influence and each product will have its own visual identity. A modern, colourful design will enhance each one thanks to the collaboration with my Sister-in-law, Jade Laurent.

<div><strong>Where I am today</strong>
</div>

<div>Through a series of chance encounters, I found organic pepper growers a few kilometers from my home. A wide range of exotic chilies now make up the production needed to launch the business. Now that I've got my raw material, I'm in the process of setting up the business. The administrative formalities are underway, the market research has been carried out, the business plan has been drawn up and the training courses are underway. The recipes and transformation processes are also in the process of being approved by an accredited technical center. The visual identity is being developed in collaboration with a contemporary artist. The various distribution channels have been set up, and demand is already there. MEBÖKO is taking shape and the project is becoming a reality.

<div>Après tant d’années dans certaines des plus belles réserves d’Afrique, une nouvelle aventure s’imposait.

<div>Toujours dans l’hôtellerie (mais plus classique), j’ai travaillé dans de beaux châteaux pour finalement devenir directeur de l’un d’eux. En Février 2024, un souci de santé m’a forcé à faire une pause. Pendant ma convalescence, je me suis rendu compte que je n’étais pas heureux dans cette nouvelle vie professionnelle. En effet, l’exotisme et la chaleur Africaine me manquaient, je n’étais tout simplement pas épanoui.

<div>Pour me reconnecter, je me suis concentré sur mon jardin et j’ai bien sûr planté des piments : un petit goût d’Afrique pour tenir ! Avec ceux-ci, j’ai fait quelques préparations pour partager ces saveurs chaleureuses à mon entourage. La réponse fût unanime : il en fallait toujours plus ! Mes recettes venues d’ailleurs ont rencontrées un réel succès. L’idée se précisait alors. Les piments, si ardents et colorés, étaient un trait d’union à mon parcours. Ce nouveau « safari » s’appelait MEBÖKO.

<div>Je crée une entreprise de transformation alimentaire spécialisée dans le piment et les pickles. Les piments sont cultivés en agriculture biologique en Dordogne, à quelques kilomètres de chez moi. Les produits seront commercialisés en direct (B2B, B2C) et aussi via une plateforme e-commerce en cours de réalisation.

<div>La gamme est constituée de pâtes de piment, sauces piquantes, pickles, piments fumés et huiles pimentés. Pour les pâtes et les sauces, il y en aura entre 3 et 4 chacune, avec différents niveaux de piquant. Chaque recette met en valeur une influence géographique et chaque produit aura sa propre identité visuelle. Un design moderne et coloré sublimera chacune de celles-ci, notamment grace à la collaboration avec ma Belle-Soeur, Jade Laurent.

<div>Le hasard des belles rencontres m’a permis de trouver des producteurs de piments en agriculture biologique à quelques kilomètres de chez moi. Une large gamme de piments exotiques constitue maintenant la production nécessaire au lancement. Ayant ma matière première, je suis en cours de création de l’entreprise. Les démarches administratives sont en cours, les études de marché réalisées, le business plan établi et les formations en cours. Les recettes et process de transformation sont eux-aussi en cours d’approbation par un centre technique agréé. L’identité visuelle est en cours d’élaboration (collaboration avec une artiste contemporaine). Les divers canaux de distribution sont constitués et la demande est déjà présente. MEBÖKO prend forme et le projet se concrétise.
