Meagan Seals Miracle Baby

Donation protected

This page is benefiting Meagan Seals and her family. Meagan was born with a rare condition called Encephalocele and Microcephaly & Anecephaly in November of 2009. By the power of God and the love of her family and friends Meagan has proven doctors wrong and surpassed many of their expectations. In May of 2014 Meagan's family celebrated 1 year of Meagan being seizure free which was a huge blessing.

However on July 21, 2014 Meagan had a setback. She became very ill and was diagnosed with a brain mass that was caused by an E. coli infection which required immediate emergency surgery. In the days following surgery Meagan was in a lot of pain and she was unable to move her left side of her body. Her family was told that it would be a long recovery. On August 2nd just as Meagan's family had thought she was on the road to recovery she became very ill again. She was re-admitted to the hospital where a second brain surgery had to be performed. The E. coli was continuing to attack her brain. After the surgery the doctors told her family that she was still very sick and needed to be kept sedated and on a vent while they treated the rapidly growing E. coli infection in her brain. After a rough week Meagan was awake off the vent and ready to go home. Doctors felt the infection was under control.

This bring us to today August 23, 2014. Meagan is now home with her family. Her beautiful long curly locks have been shaved from her surgery but she is still just as sweet and beautiful as can be. She is still unable to move her left side, but Luellen her mother can get her to smile and you can see the right side of her sweet lips curl upwards. Doctors believe that she suffered a stroke.
I watched as Luellen puts Sesame Street on. She tells me with a big smile that it’s Meagan’s favorite DVD.

The road to recovery is going to be long for Meagan, but she is a fighter. Her family is now left with the burden of mounting medical bills and other expenses that total over $40,000. Meagan will need to undergo speech and physical therapy due to the stroke and continues to take numerous medications. While the family has medical insurance it only covers a fraction of each expense.

My hope is that as a community we can continue to reach out to the Seals family and help lighten their burden. A donation of any kind would be truly appreciated and prayers are always welcome! I know that many of you who see this may have donated in the past and for that the Seals family is extremely grateful. However, when I recently visited with them I realized that they are a family who continues to need all the prayers and support our wonderful community can give. It’s easy to see an article, say a prayer or make a donation and then get on with our busy lives and forget that this family continues to need to be lifted up in prayer on a daily basis. We may have never experienced such a medical challenge; one that drains our family emotionally, physically, spiritually and financially. A little means a lot in their lives. If you can pray, please pray. If you can donate, even $1.00 please donate. Thank you and God Bless!
