Hi, my name is sinade, I’m 29, and I never imagined I’d be in a position where I’d need to ask for help like this — but here I am.
For the past 7 years, I’ve been living with female pattern hair loss (FPHL), a form of hair loss that has taken a serious toll on both my appearance and my mental health. For years now I’ve been watching my hair fall out — a part of me I used to love, to see it slowly disappear.
The reason I have this hair condition is from a medical condition called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome this long term health condition has effected me now since I was 13 years old and it is slowly taking more and more of my life away from me aswell as causing more and more longterm health conditions. I have done everything in my power to fight PCOS but unfortunately I fall into the category of soemone that suffers with all the symptoms/side effects of PCOS. This is really starting g to take its toll on my mental health.
I’ve tried everything I can, red light hair regrowth therapy, Derma roller, Exosomes which is an alternative to PRP (platelet-rich plasma) treatments, the alternative was my only option due to my blood being no good with all the medication I have to take to control my long term health conditions. This treatment alone cost £3150.
Unfortunately my hair follicles are continuing to die and the DHT (Dihydrotestosterone) a male hormone that is very high in women with PCOS, I have been prescribed medication for the last 5 years to try and help with this but unfortunately it is just not working.
unfortunately I have recently have 10 consultations with different companies regarding a hair transplant and I am not a suitable candidate and advised against this due to my current ongoing health conditions and long term medications.
I am absolutely devastated and heart broken as you can imagine this has not been easy to hear
My last and only hope is a hair integration system I have had a few consultants with different companies for a hair integration system is going to cost anything between £1500-£2000
This is money I simply just dont have and its something that the NHS dont offer.
As many people would say just work more hours at work unfortunately everytime I do this i become very poorly with my other health conditions I end up being signed off of work. This just isnt an option.
I know everyone is going through something, and times are tough — so even if it’s 20p or just sharing this page, it truly means the world to me. This isn’t just about hair. It’s about helping me feel lmy self again.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my story.
With love
Sinade ❤️
