Donate to help me to go on an expedition to Kenya

Hi, my name is Lilly Wood and I’m 15 years old. I have been give a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to embark on a 4 week Jambo Kenya expedition with Camps International in 2025.

The four week trip will include living in three different camps in Kenya, working on sustainable projects with local people, helping to support the local community, wildlife and environment. During the trip, we will get to meet the Maasai Tribe,go on a trek for a day in the Marangu hills and learn bushcraft survival skills, learn traditional skills from local women in the villages and go on a safari at Tsavo East National Park.

This expedition will be a chance for me to explore and experience different cultures and work with communities to develop them and conserve their environment. Some of the projects will include:

•Planting trees

•De-worming animals

•Spending time with a women’s group and learning some bead-crafts

•Make elephant deterrents that won’t harm the animals

•Make paper to bring a source of income to the local community

•Coastal forest protection

•Low level construction, painting, plastering and brick-laying to construct important communal facilities for the locals

I am so excited and beyond grateful to have been given the chance of a trip to help local communities in Kenya and to experience a different culture and an insight into challenges faced by communities in the east of Africa. This opportunity will be a way to deepen my knowledge on culture and life skills.

I am fundraising this money to cover the costs of the expedition. I will be holding various events to also raise funds for the trip. I would be extremely grateful for any possible donations you could make toward my fundraising and greatly appreciative of any contribution.
