Aid for Syrian Refugees in Jordan

Donation protected
In September of 2014, I attended my very first mission with SCM to help provide medical and humanitarian assistance to displaced Syrians in Jordan.  Witnessing first hand the lack of basic necessities Syrians had access to, has pushed to me to create this fundraiser.

On March 19th, I will be returning to Jordan once again to work in Al-Zaatari Camp and various border villages. Salaam Cultural Museum (SCM) sees approximately two thousand patients over the course of 6 days; providing free medical, dental, and psychiatric care in addition to prescriptions and referrals to specialists. Our humanitarian team also distributes diapers, formula, and humanitarian supplies.

My personal goal is to raise $7,500, which will be allocated in the following ways:

$5,000: Food Parcels. For JUST $31, an entire family of four can be fed for one month. With the World Food Program (WFP) struggling to keep up with the growing demand and international donations slow to come in- Syrians are feeling the consequences of the world’s lack of assistance.
This amount covers 250 food baskets that contain:
5kg of Rice, 5Kg of Sugar, 4 containers of Vermicelli, 4 containers of Macaroni, 1.8 L of Vegetable Oil, 48 Pieces of Triangle Cheese, 400gm of Chider Cheese, and Tomato Paste.

$2,500: Baby formula. The majority of infants and toddlers seen are suffering from chronic malnutrition and dehydration. Mothers encountered often struggled with lactation due to the malnutrition faced themselves or the stressful conditions of their environment. Different age levels and types are desperately needed.

These items cannot be collected here and sent via shipping containers due to Jordan's strict commerce laws. Therefore, all funds will go to SCM, so items can be purchased in Jordan. It will be distributed to Syrians outside of the camps, since they are the most at risk with the present protection gaps. Updates will be posted here, so check back often!

Please also note that travel, transportation, and accomodations throughout this trip are paid for by volunteers, so 100% of this campaign will directly benefit Syrian refugees in Jordan.
