First off... WOW! We are so overly blessed to have so many who care, love, and support our little family, and furthermore Robert. I want to say thank you, thank you to the countless friends and family going above and beyond for not only Robert, but for Baleigh, Raelyn, and myself. From watching our girls to bringing us meals to financial needs.. the support we have had from Robert's parents and spouses, my parents, HNJ (1st grade), and multiple amazing friends has been endless and a true act of selfless love.

One of those acts, came from my Dance Mania All-Star family, whom started this fundraiser for us. Robert and I unaware at the time, have totally been thrown for a loop and overcome with emotions due to the amazing outcome so far. Words can't express how grateful we truly are. Below is a brief run down and updates.

Mid December my husband, Robert started having some health issues: shortness of breath, getting winded easily, lightheaded, etc. By the end of December, he decided to book a flight to Barbados. His mother is from Barbados and his aunt works for a cardiologist where he goes bi-yearly for check-ups. No one expected what they found....

At his check-up two days after landing, they found multiple blood clots in Robert’s lungs…a pulmonary embolism, and hypertension of the lungs. He began immediate treatment in Barbados. Little did we know that the flight over could have killed him... Thank the good Lord that didn't happen.

He was immediately started on blood thinners and oxygen therapy but was unable to travel back home until his oxygen levels were high enough to travel by plane, and even then the flight was extremely risky. After almost 3 weeks Robert was able to come back to the states with a portable oxygen tank.

Fast Forward: Robert stayed with his Dad in Jupiter for a week all while trying to get doctor and specialists appointments set up here stateside. After seeing a Pulmonologist in Melbourne we were referred to the Mayo clinic in Jacksonville immediately.

We were able to make an appointment for Monday February 8th at Mayo, surpassing the normal wait of 3 weeks due to the critical nature of Robert’s illness. Thursday of last week we received a phone call that Robert’s appointments had been canceled due to insurance denial. Today we were able to secure an appointment at Mayo for next Tuesday, February 16th

Monday February 8th Robert was doubled over in abdominal pain, rushed to the ER at Holmes Regional, and was found to have fluid in his lungs along with everything else. He was admitted and was treated for pneumonia, Pulmonary Embolism, Pulmonary Hypertension as well as the discovery of an additional blood clot in his left leg.

What started off as bad news after scans in the ER left Robert admitted in the hospital. Further review the following day from specialists indicated that there were some signs of improvement in his lungs. Another over night stay and more testing, Robert has been released to continue testing and treatment as an outpatient. We have appointments set on Tuesday at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville with pulmonary hypertension specialists to further review his case and recommend proper treatment. As well as to try to find the source of what is causing his clotting.

Robert continues to remain on oxygen 24/7. Doctors are hopeful for a full recovery with no long term damage. They all agree the road to recovery will be a long one, as it takes the body time to recover from everything he is going through.

Our continued prayer is that the clots in his leg are resolved without further complicating his lungs and his pulmonary hypertension pressures can come down.

Robert and our family thank y'all so much! Thank you Sarah Brown for taking the initiative to help our family in this hard time.
We ask for continued prayers, not only for Robert, but also for our little girls. They are pretty clueless but Baleigh has been picking up on some issues, so she realizes how sick her Daddy is. As you can imagine, these medical bills are extremely costly and neither of us are able to work for time being and improvements. Thank you again for your continued support and prayers! With your loving assistance Robert will be able to focus on the most important thing right now, getting well. We are very optimistic about his recovery but do realize we have a long road ahead of us. Thank you and God Bless You!
