Maryland Milestones/Anacostia Trails Heritage Area Inc. is a Maryland Certified Heritage Area seeking to preserve and promote the history, culture, natural resources, and arts in the Route 1/Northern Prince George's County region. You have known us for the War of 1812 commemoration, the work with partners like MNCPPC, Anacostia Watershed Society, Prince George's Heritage, Greenbelt Museum, the Gateway Arts District, and many more. Now we are embarking on a project to open our "Heritage Center."
This project will not only create our permanent home to be located in the Pyramid Atlantic Art Center on Gallatin Street in Hyattsville, but also create exciting exhibit space to tell the story of our communities within the Heritage Area. The funding from this effort will support the design and implementation of exhibits and visitor amenities.

We are embarking on the design work this winter and spring so that we can begin construction in time for the opening of the center in the spring of 2017. This project is going to be the core of the Maryland Milestones/ Anacostia Trails Heritage Area and will be a hub for our work throughout the region - which includes telling local history, building bike infrastructure, and expanding arts opportunities. By funding this project you will help set us on an upward trajectory for the future!
