My Battle against Cancer

I had always thought that there is more happiness in giving than receiving. For years I would always do fund raisers for those who are in need. I figured that you are more blessed if you are a giver rather than a getter. So, I never wanted to be the latter. But sometimes, tables also turns...

I have been diagnosed last January  with Follicular thyroid cancer stage 4 metastatic to the pelvic, lungs and spine. I had undergone surgery for total thyroidectomy last February while at the same time undergoing 20 sessions of Radiation to the pelvic unluckily the radiation did not change the size of the lump in that area. Last March I went through radioactive iodine. I was blessed to have insurance during those treatments but it doesn’t cover everything. I had accumulated almost $5000 in medical bills. Receiving a lot of demand letters is so stressful. So, I have arranged payment plans and now I am paying in installments as I am not able to work as of the moment. My family has been very supportive to extend all the help but I do not want to be so much of a burden as they do not deserve to make so much sacrifices for me. The mere thought of me having cancer is already stressful for them. 

As I continue my fight with cancer and as I go through the second phase of treatment, many has been asking how to help me and what I need. Having to go through cancer is very humbling, I do not need anything but prayers and a debt free life. And so I finally agreed to set up a gofundme towards paying my medical bills.
