McMillan Family Fire Relief

Donation protected
Over 29 years ago Lewis and Lizzie set out to create not only a home but a safe haven for their children and generations to come. With little funds but a whole lot of faith and determination, they were able to find a place called home at 268 West Runyon Street. My grandparents had an open door policy for relatives, friends of the family, or anyone that just so happen to be in need. Through the years we've had countless parties, cookouts, acorn and water fights, basketball tournaments, summer camps, pool parties, and so much more. Out of everything we as a family experienced in this house, THE saddest thing was the passing of our father/grandfather. In the days leading up to his passing, he spoke of the importance of keeping the house in the family. On May 22, 2013, a electrical fire destroyed our safe haven and devastated the hearts of every member of the McMillan family. Losing the only home some of us had ever known was only the beginning of our sorrow. All the memories, pictures of our beloved father/grandfather, and personal belongings all gone....... We lost everything but our faith still remains. In our time of need we are reaching out for help in hopes that we can secure the basic necessities we lost in the fire and eventually rebuild from the ashes.

"If I can help one person along the way, I know my living will not be in vain"-- Rev. Lizzie McMillan
