Barrier Island Field Trip

The fifth grade teachers of McLees Academy of Leadership are trying to raise money to take our entire grade level on an overnight field trip to Barrier Island.

In past years, it has not been possible for every student to attend due to finances.



We are located in a rural community and this field trip is a fun and educational opportunity for every student.  McLees is a Lighthouse School that adheres to Stephen Covey's eight habits of leadership. Our mission statement is, "Learning to live as leaders for a lfetime."
We want all of the students next year to be able to attend and not to miss out on the trip because of money. To that end, we are hoping to raise enough money to fund the field trip. Each student currently would have to pay $200 to attend. With a school that is approximately 65% free or reduced lunch, this can be a problem for many families. If we can raise any portion of that to lower the cost of every child's field trip fee, it would provide a fanastic chance for each student to go.
